Campaign favorite moments
What has been the best part of the campaign to be the next Sheriff of DeKalb County?
Undoubtedly, the best part of this campaign has been getting to know the citizens throughout the entire county. Beginning February 1, 2022, I started walking door to door to introduce myself and answer any questions that were asked. Nearly 7 days a week, from early evening until dark throughout the week as well as mornings to darkness on the weekends, I was able to reach thousands of homes. Those cold nights with snow, sleet, or rain were made bearable by the conversations and feedback received by numerous members of the community. Whether it was a quick introduction or a lengthy conversation, I certainly appreciated the opportunity for the dialogue and the ability to put my face with the name on a personal level.
I thoroughly enjoyed the rewarding experiences of being invited into homes to discuss my vision for the Sheriff’s Department. The positive feedback and hospitality were appreciated beyond what words could describe. Feedback from community leaders across the county from Garrett to Butler and Ashley to Spencerville appreciating my time and commitment to their respective communities emphasized more of a need to be involved in these communities.
Hundreds of hours spent and thousands of doors later, here we are in the final full week until election day. If we have not had the opportunity to meet or answer any questions you may have, please shoot me a message with what’s on your mind. I look forward to continuing to meet new people and share my vision for the Sheriff’s Department if elected Sheriff of DeKalb County.
