I am friends with and speak with many of the members of the Sheriff’s Department. It is common that most of the Sheriff’s Department is supportive of Det. Thomas and changes are needed. I encourage you to ask around. I will be voting for Brady Thomas on May 3, 2022, and I encourage you to also.

With that said, I believe Brady Thomas would be exceptionally proficient as the next DeKalb County sheriff due to his adaptability when facing adversity, his high integrity, and moral conduct which I have personally witnessed and experienced while working in conjunction with him. Brady’s long-time experience in law enforcement accompanied by the skills he acquired from his time in the United States Marine Corps, his empathetic and compassionate nature toward others, initiative and drive, guidance, and willingness to listen to others are the exact character traits required and needed for our community in DeKalb County. Ascribable to these aforementioned attributes and character traits, I will be voting Brady Thomas for Sheriff at the May 3rd Primary. Furthermore, I’ve had discussions with multiple other officers and deputies regarding the election and have found that there is an overwhelming amount of support from the silent majority.

Detective Thomas is a forward thinker, which will greatly benefit the Sheriff’s Department. He does not just tell people what they want to hear, nor does he just shoot from the hip and hope for the best. Detective Thomas looks at the overall big picture on what potential effects could follow on decisions that are made.

While working with Detective Thomas, I have observed him to always take a logical approach to situations, remain open-minded to the input of others; he is always working to develop a progressive approach to figuring out previous and recurring issues. Detective Thomas does not take shortcuts when it comes to his professional work, and he diligently makes sure his work is the best that it can be.

I met with Brady and spoke with him about his ideas. The more I speak with Brady or speak with people about Brady, the more I am excited and encouraged for the ideas and community involvement that Brady suggests.

I am a full supporter of Brady's ideas and beliefs. Brady is an honest person, very level-headed, intelligent, a forward thinker, and is a terrific listener. For these reasons and many more, I will be voting for Brady Thomas in the May 3 primary election as the next sheriff for DeKalb County.

I believe Brady Thomas is the best candidate to move this county forward positively, to serve individuals and families through the proper management of our law enforcement and confinement officers, administrative staff, building needs, and the needs of the offenders. One point of the conversations between Brady and me is the number of reoccurring offenders and how we can teach and walk alongside them to help them and their families learn skills and move beyond their current challenges. The Gathering is willing to partner with Brady when he is elected as sheriff to help curb the jailed population and help our neighbors become productive citizens of our county.

Assistant Chief, Concord Twp.
Volunteer Fire Department

Detective Brady Thomas is a great cop, an honorable man, and a born leader. He is entirely focused on bringing the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department to the highest possible standards in training, professionalism, and selfless service that any agency can strive for. Unlike other administrations, Detective Brady Thomas is not interested in his own legacy, but rather, the legacy that the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department will have as a whole. Detective Brady Thomas possesses the drive, fortitude of character and willingness to serve that is required of a leader. These are the reasons I believe he will make an excellent sheriff when he is elected as the next Sheriff of DeKalb County.

Retired/Former Chief Deputy
DeKalb County Sheriff's Department

Over the years, I have worked many shifts with Deputy Brady Thomas. While he and I have not always agreed on all matters, I will say with confidence Deputy Thomas has demonstrated compassion and caring for the other members of the department by diligently pursuing to improve the working conditions for his co-workers at the DCSD.

Deputy Brady Thomas has consistently demonstrated the attributes one would expect from a law enforcement professional and former Marine. Forgotten values like honesty, integrity and perseverance. These are the attributes I look for Deputy Brady Thomas to restore to the DCSD when he is elected as Sheriff of DeKalb County.

Former Sheriff's Deputy

Deputy Thomas is an extremely motivated, intelligent, and caring person as well as a natural leader. He has not only exhibited these traits in his job as a detective and colleague to the Sheriff's department but to the community as well.

On top of a full caseload as a detective, Deputy Thomas also gives back to the community by helping with fundraisers for local Junior Achievement, United Way, and other essential programs. He also volunteers his time with the Auburn Conservation Team to clean up Cedar Creek.

We have an important decision in deciding the next Sheriff for DeKalb County. I strongly feel that Deputy Thomas has all the tools necessary to be an outstanding sheriff. He is consistently involved in the community in many different ways and would be an excellent leader in the sheriff's seat to keep this great community safe. The DeKalb County Sheriffs Department is in dire need of change, and Deputy Thomas is the most qualified in regard to making this happen.
